Bentley celebrate 100 years at Salon Prive
From the oldest Bentley in the world – EXP2 – to the very latest concept car – EXP100GT, Sunday’s annual Bentley Driver’s Club Rally was certainly an event not to be missed. Hosted at Blenheim Palace, 1321 Bentley’s gathered to celebrate Bentley’s Centenary at Salon Privé , setting a new record for the largest gathering of Bentleys in history.
Owners and enthusiasts of the brand ensured that every model was represented at the event. The entire history of Bentley production in Crewe was also on display, from the Mark VI models of 1946 through to today’s full four-model range of the Continental GT Coupe and Convertible, Flying Spur, Bentayga and Mulsanne.
The event was also the perfect setting to announce a new Continuation Series for Sir Tim Birkin’s iconic 1929 4 ½ litre Team Blower. 12 new cars to match the original, are to be created by Bentley Mulliner. Their level of craftsmanship skills were also represented in the recently restored 1939 Bentley Cornice – a one of a kind concept car that had been destroyed at the outbreak of the Second World War.
